Complying with health protocols, the 65th meeting of the Executive Board of the National Olympic Committee was held and was chaired by Dr. Salehi Amiri, NOC President.
Iran NOC, Tehran: Dr. Kaykavos Saeidi,
NOC Secretary General stated: “in the meeting of the Executive Board, issues
raised in the recent IOC Session attended by Thomas Bach and members of the IOC
was discussed and then Mr. Abdi Eftekhari, the EB Member and Chairman of the
Management and Planning Commission, presented his report on determining the
indicators for helping the Olympic sports”.
Saeidi also pointed out: "another
topic of this report was related to the indicators set to help the Olympic sports, which were discussed, such as medal coefficient, participation in
international competitions, holding international positions, the population of
athletes in the field, management coefficient and other functions such as
hosting competitions, conferences, international courses and scientific research
and appropriate employment of technical and executive people in the federation.
Secretary-General highlight: “of
course, in order to pay attention to the coefficient of basic and medal-winning
fields, it was decided to determine this according to a separate regulation, so
that while determining and announcing basic fields in the Management and
Planning Commission, expert work will be done and will be approved by the
Executive Board”.
The Secretary General of the
National Olympic Committee, in further explanation, noted that negative
coefficients have also been considered, such as doping, deprivations, lack of
attention to women's sports, which were among the issues approved in this
report
Also, in order to help sports in
the earthquake-stricken areas of Kermanshah, the Executive Board approved that
for the development of student sports and basic disciplines, an amount be given
to relevant authorities to purchase necessary sports equipment.
