Acknowledging the OS activities, NOC President Dr. Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri emphasized on the progress made by the NOC Olympic Solidarity.
In this regard, NOC President, Dr.
Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri sent the following message:
“Over the last
year, Olympic Solidarity Department tried to play a pivotal role in developing
sport through strengthening of coaches, supporting the athletes to participate
in Tokyo Summer Olympic Games and Beijing Winter Olympic Games, improving
knowledge level of sports managers and promoting Olympic Values all over the
country.
The OS
Department of I.R Iran NOC aims to create more opportunities in order to assist
athletes, coaches and sports directors in line with the Olympic Solidarity
guidelines and policies.
Acquiring the
most possible financial support from IOC OS Commission by running a variety of
initiatives and activities is one of the successful expression of OS
Department. Clear progress was made in the implementation of the World Programs
for Iranian NOC in 2019. The same is true of the positive impact that these
programs had with regard to the financial support offered to the NFs, different
Commissions of the I.R Iran NOC and other stakeholders.
Among other
programs carried out through OS Commission support for many years including OS
Administrative Courses, Technical Coaching Courses, Olympic Week, Olympic
Scholarships for Athletes, there were some new initiatives and programs in 2019
such as Oral History of Iran Sport, Athletes Career Transition Course, Olympic
Ambassadors Training Course and … which have implemented for the first time.
For the year
2020, OS Department intends to provide more opportunities for athletes,
coaches, sports managers and other stakeholders benefiting from IOC OS Commission
support.
