NOC President, Dr. Salehi Amiri held talks with his counterparts from Central Asia Zone NOCs and also met with other high-ranking sports officials during his stay in Nur Sultan, Kazakhstan.
Iran, NOC: Dr. Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri, Iran NOC President who
participated in the 3rd Elective General Assembly of OCA Central Asia Zone NOCs
met with the host NOC President Mr. Timur Kulibayev who was voted unanimously
for another term of Presidency in Kazakhstan NOC. During the meeting with Mr.
Kulibayev, both officials expressed hope for further expansion of cooperation
in the future and exchanged views based on mutual interests which ultimately led
to conclusion of an MOU between two sides in the presence of Kazak Sports
Minister.
It is also highlighted that Dr. Salehi Amiri had a constructive meeting
with HE Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad AL-SABAH, the OCA President, in which he
expressed great interest to host the upcoming Central Asia Zone NOCs GA in
Tehran. The matter was welcomed by the OCA President and is due to be approved in
Doha.
The NOC President also proposed holding the Central Asian Nations
Games being hosted by Iran which was also endorsed by the members and the OCA
President in view of the valuable benefits and experiences involved with
participating in such games which could also serve as a test event for other
mega sports events namely Asian Games.
Dr. Salehi Amiri sat over the negotiation table with Mr. Nenad
Lalovic, President of United World Wrestling, taking advantage of the World
Wrestling Championship which was in progress in Kazakhstan.
