Following the negotiations and visits with the directors and presidents of the IFs and the NOCs of various countries in Lausanne; yesterday evening, the NOC President, Dr. Salehi Amiri met with Thomas Bach, President of the IOC, President of Turkish NOC, President of Archery IF and Jordan NOC.
Following the negotiations and visits with the directors and presidents of the IFs and the NOCs of various countries in Lausanne; yesterday evening, the NOC President, Dr. Salehi Amiri met with Thomas Bach, President of the IOC, President of Turkish NOC, President of Archery IF and Jordan NOC.
According
to the report released by NOC Public Relations Department, the NOC President,
on IOC invitation, participated in the inauguration ceremony of the new IOC Headquarters
and the Award Ceremony of Golden Ring to the best Argentina Youth Olympic Games
2018 and Pyoungchang Winter Olympics.
The
Golden Ring Award Ceremony was conducted in 12 sections during which the
Olympians, champions and veterans awarded Golden, Silver and Bronze rings to
the best films.
“the
media help the athletes be perceived, the youth and the enthusiasts closely
meet different champions and the media bridges their interaction” held Thomas
Bach, the IOC President, emphasizing the roles of the media in sports. By the
end of the meeting, Dr. Salehi Amiri invited the IOC President pay a visit to
one of the major sport events which will be held in our country.
“Doubtlessly
presence of officials in such ceremonies and meeting with other sport figures and
directors will increase the mutual sport interactions” said Thomas Bach in a
pleasurable reply to our NOC President’s invitation.
President
Salehi Amiri also met with Ogor Ordner, who is Turkish NOC President, and
President of the Archery IF and the IOC Vice-President.
During
this visit, Salehi Amiri expressed his interest in expanding the cooperation
between the two countries and stated: “considering the cultural similarities, fruitful
economic and political ties as neighbors, the two countries Iran & Turkey
are able to promote their sport interactions more than before through
participating in events held in both countries and in joint training camps. We
are also interested in obtaining sport equipment which are not produced in Iran
and the Turkish NOC can positively cooperate with us in this regard”.
On
the following; the Turkish NOC President further expressed his pleasure and stated:
“Without the doubt, the increase in the sports interactions of the two
countries will lead to promotion of the sport in the two countries, and I
welcome such cooperation; to provide part of the standard equipment, Iranian
NFs can communicate with our Ministry of Sports and we will facilitate the
communication and cooperation”.
Ogor
Ordner, as the Archery IF and IOC Vice-President expressed satisfaction with
the status of the Iranian archery and held: "the Archery IF now has no tensions
and is doing its best. It is hoped that it can continue to grow based on
planning and tranquility”.
“ I
appreciate the supports to archery made by the Iranian NOC President which is
motivating us for supporting archery in Iran and that Iran can express
preparation for hosting the Youth Archery World Cup and we will announce the result
after evaluations and cooperation” said the Archery IF President regarding
Iran’s hosting an archery event.
Lastly,
Dr. Salehi Amiri met with Princess Faisal Bin Hussein, President of Jordanian
National Olympic Committee.
During
this meeting, the Iranian NOC President expressed that the two nations can be
much closer in sports and sports is the best cornerstone to expand cultural,
social, scientific and university interactions thanks to the commonalities.
Inviting
the Jordanian Prince to Iran, Dr. Salehi Amiri stated: “doubtlessly your
presence in our country and visiting our sport equipment and condition will
help you have a clearer understanding from our sport”.
The
Jordanian NOC President further held: “Iran is an important country in the
region and is of the sport powers in Asia and doubtlessly sports can make the
two countries closer; I also appreciate your invitation”.
