Held annually on June 23, the Olympic Day commemorates the birth of the modern Olympic Games in 1894 and is celebrated each year by millions of people in more than 160 countries.

Olympic Day commemorates the birth of the modern Olympic Games in 1894 and is
celebrated each year by millions of people in more than 160 countries.
Its mission is to cultivate fitness,
well being, culture and education while promoting the Olympic values of excellence,
friendship and respect within the three pillars of Olympic Day – Move, Learn
and Discover.
Islamic Republic of Iran NOC, as the
major governing body to promote the Olympic Movement, has also managed to hold
the Olympic Week Ceremonies through different sport programs and activities
supported and cooperated by the NFs, Sports & Youth Ministry, schools,
universities and everyone involved in sporting activities.
Today, 23rd of June, the National
Museum of Sport, Olympic and Paralympic was visited by sports figures,
Olympians, champions, and school students as the opening day of the event.
Olympic Day will also be
commemorated in other cities of Iran and it is expected that more programs and activities
in line with the Olympic Week be promoted, and broadcast.
