On Friday, Iran’s three-a-side team – comprising Sona Razaqi, Atousa Farahmand and Seyyedeh Masoumeh Hosseini – overcame South Korea in the final to claim the gold in the women’s team 31-40 age category.

France and Finland jointly took the bronzes.

Earlier in the day, Farahmand had settled for the individual silver of the same age category after scoring 7.45 points in the final – against the South Korean opponent’s 7.50 – while the American and Danish representatives finished third.

Additionally, the team of Yasaman Limouchi, Sanaz Taqipour and Parastoo Zeynabi – representing Iran in the girls’ 12-14 age group – won the bronze, following Chinese Taipei and South Korea, which won the gold and silver respectively.

In the girls’ team 15-17 age group, Raziyeh Aqaei, Reyhaneh Omrani and Zeynab Toghyani also finished their campaign with a bronze along with Thailand while South Korea won the gold at the expense of the host team in the final.

On the first day of the competitions, Akbar Forouzan, Rahmat Nazari and Ali Salmani had opened the account for Iran with a men’s team bronze in the 31-40 age group contests after a semifinal defeat against the Philippines (7.32-7.28).

The Philippines then was beaten by South Korea in the final while the US team won the other bronze of the category.

Having started on November 15, the world championships will finish at the University of Taipei Gymnasium on November 18.
