Iranian karatekas defeated Turkey and ranked first in Kumite category of the 24th World Senior Championships which is underway in Madrid, Spain.

Some 1,117 karate fighters from 140 countries participated in the event.
During the first match, Saleh Abazari was overpowered 2-0.
Meanwhile, Bahman Asgari who had earlier received a gold medal in -75 kg weight category was defeated by Turkish rival.
The third Iranian representative Zabihollah Pourshib hit the rival 2-0.
During the 4th match, Mahdi Khodabakhshi drew 2-2.
Finally, Iran's Sajjad Ganjzadeh hit Turkish fighter 4-0.
