Two Iranian athletes managed to take the second and third places in the 2018 ICE Canoe Sprint Junior and U23 World Championships now underway in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

Iranian athlete Mohammad Nabi Rezaei finished runner up in the U23 men's 1000-meter single-canoe race with a record of 4:00:722.
Erfan Zendi in the men's 1000 meter single-kayak race took the third place with a time of 4:39:689.
The Olympic discipline of canoe sprint is contested on flat water over four distances – 200m, 500m, 1000m & 5000m. Introduced to the Games in 1924 it became a full medal sport by the 1936 Berlin Games.
