During Villa de Madrid competitions, Iran ranked 8th in team category.
The event was held in Madrid, Spain on May 18-20.
Korea, Italy and Hungary ranked first to third in world, respectively.
This is while, world fencing giants like Russia, Germany, the US and France are after Iran in the ranking list.
The sabre or saber is a type of backsword with a curved blade associated with the light cavalry of the early modern and Napoleonic periods.
Originally associated with Central-Eastern European cavalry such as the hussars, the sabre became widespread in Western Europe in the Thirty Years' War.
