Iran freestyle team won the title of the 2016 Interuniversity World Wrestling Championships.
The Iranian team won five gold medals and three bronzes in the competition.
Younes Sarmasti in 57kg, Reza Afzali in 74kg, Mohammad Javad Ebrahimi in 86kg, Amir Mohammadi in 97kg and Reza Mousavi in 125kg claimed gold medals.
Mehran Nasiri in 61kg, Meysam Heydari in 65kg and Hamed Rashidi in 70kg won bronze.
The competition brought around 250 athletes from 26 countries together at the Hittite University in Corum, Turkey.
The World University Wrestling Championship (WUWC) is part of International University Sports Federation’s (FISU) wonderful program.
