Iran’s volleyball Team Beats Argentina in Five-Setter
Iranian national volleyball team clinched a narrow but significant victory over Argentina in the FIVB World League on Sunday.

Prior to the victory, Iran conceded two defeats against Brazil (0-3) and the US (1-3) in their first two World League matches, however it was able to earn two points by defeating Argentina 3-2 in a tough match.

During the Match, Iran's Mohammad Javad Manavinezhad was the match's best scorer gaining 18 points for Iranian side, and Cristian Poglajen led Argentina with 16 points.

Raul Lozano, Iran’s coach, said after the victory “it is always hard for me when I have to face Argentina. Julio Velasco is a great friend. I would rather to not be in that situation, but that is sport. We had a great game with a good performance on the side-out. We almost did not commit any mistakes in the tiebreak. But there is still room for improvements.”

Iran’s team will depart for Serbia to compete in the second week of the 2016 FIVB World League. In their first game in second week pool, Iran meets Bulgaria on Thursday.
